Cleat Class - Intro
Tiempo
It’s undergone many revisions and redesigns since its creation, but in terms of looks, there’s a clear throughline from today’s Tiempos to the ones worn by so many stars in the 90s. If you like that old-school style of cleat but also want to benefit from the latest tech, the Tiempo is ideal.
While the first Tiempo dates back to 1983, its modern heritage began in 2005 with the Air Legend. Ronaldinho was the main man when it came to endorsement, showing that the Tiempo was equally effective in the attacking third as at the back and in midfield.
Since then, we’ve had numbered generations of the Tiempo Legend at regular intervals, with incremental changes made over the years to ensure the iconic cleat keeps pace with its rivals and continues to offer that winning combination of fit, feel, and touch. There have been signature editions for R10 and other Tiempo stalwarts such as Totti and Pirlo, along with a significant spinoff in the form of the purist’s favorite, the Premier.
So, is it a defender’s cleat? Or a midfield maestro’s? What about strikers? Honestly, all of the above. Whichever position you play, you want what the Tiempo offers. There’s a reason it’s been around for so long: it’s one of the best cleats ever made.

Ground Type Guide
Selecting the correct sole plate for the surface you are playing on is crucial, not only for the performance and longevity of your cleats, but also to avoid the risk of injury.
Using an outsole that isn't designed specifically for the surface on which you are playing may cause premature wear and/or damage that will not be deemed as a fault of manufacture and will prevent the retailer accepting them for a refund or exchange.
Firm Ground
Cleats with Firm Ground soleplates are only to be used on natural short-grass surfaces that is firm underfoot but may be slightly wet.
Designed specifically for this playing surface, they offer acceleration, comfort and enhanced traction, dispersing stud pressure evenly across the foot.
FG soleplates are fixed (not removable) and are used worldwide; wetter countries tend to use them spring to autumn.
FG cleats are not to be used on artificial ground (AG) surfaces as the construction is not designed for the extra friction.
FG cleats used on AG surfaces will invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty.
